It don’t mean a thing, if it ain’t got that swing!
And it’ll be a night to remember when the award-winning Woburn Jazz swing into town on Thursday (June 11) as part of the StonyLive! festival.
Expect big band swing from Ellington to Basie, cool bossa, and everything from Stevie Wonder to Miles Davis when the 15-piece band hits the Cock Hotel’s Marquee Suite on Thursday night.
And there’ll be vocal numbers from guest singer Jack Yates.
Woburn Jazz won first prize in the Open music category at this year’s Milton Keynes Festival of the Arts for Music, Dance and Drama, held in March.
The gig is a homecoming for the band, which grew out of an open session that began in Stony 15 years ago.
Now they return in triumph under bandleader John Gates to bring their big band favourites back to Stony.
