IN A SPIN WITH THE RETURN OF THE RECORD FAIR

They used to be a regular draw here in the Keynes, and we were regularly found flicking through the plastic sleeves in search of a new gem, but alas, Record Fairs fell by the way years ago.

Then the music industry told us we didn't need vinyl, and CDs were the must-have.

We reluctantly complied and did the disc thing, but still snapped up the vinyl we could get our musical mitts on.

And then we were told to download. No, ta. We're a tactile bunch, and love our music.

We want art work, thank you lists and lyric sheets. Not one-click disposable play time

And, at odds with those supposedly in the know, vinyl collectors have been on the increase in recent years.

To give the vinyl side added support, Record Store Day launched a few years back and record fairs are on the increase, and they are back here in the new town too.

On Sunday, The Craufurd Arms (March 6) is playing host to one.

Record fairs are a great way of finding records , whether they are standard releases, re-issues or mega rarities,” organiser Jim Mallard told us.

Plus you can mingle with like minded individuals and the dealers are always extremely knowledgeable about their stock on sale.

The Craufurd Arms record fair is new to Milton Keynes which has been starved of such an event for far too long. All tastes in music are catered for and you'll be surprised at the range on offer.

Try it; what else would you do on a Sunday afternoon in Milton Keynes?”

And where else can you sup a pint of your favoured fizz while you shop?

Entry is free and doors open at midday.
