Bradwell Silver Band are hoping that a little Christmas spirit will help to raise theirs, after the music makers received some bad news.
They deposited a whopping £5,500 to a jacket company to tailor their new jackets.
But the company – which had been trading since 1914 – has closed its doors and the liquidators are in.
The same company provided the band with their last set of jackets in 1984, but now the music makers joins the list of creditors hoping that the money can be returned.
“This is a real shock for the band and we're still working through what we're going to do,” said band secretary Robin Allen.
“We spent a long time finding the funds so that we could continue to present the band in a professional way.”
Last year the collective – made up of voluntary musicians – fundraised £2400 for Help the Heroes.
This Christmas morning, they will be continuing the 114-year tradition of playing in New Bradwell at 6am -The tradition goes that local children wont open their Christmas presents until they have heard the band in the streets.
