Milton Keynes MP’s honour at signing Armed Forces Covenant at MK Dons

Mark Lancaster, the MP for Milton Keynes North, was honoured to sign the Armed Forces Covenant at MK Dons on Saturday.

Mark, who is also Minister of State for the Armed Forces, signed the Covenant alongside MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman prior to kick-off.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise to support the employment of the men and women who serve our country, and offer flexibility in leave for service spouses and partner before, during and after deployment.

MK Dons and Lincoln City both walked onto the pitch to a Guard of Honour from members of the Armed Forces and MK Dons’ SET’s disabilities teams, while there was also a half-time parade around the stadium.

“It was an honour for me to sign the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of the Ministry for Defence at Stadium MK this weekend," Mark said.

“As a member of the Armed Forces myself and Minister of State for the Armed Forces it’s so pleasing to see so much support for servicemen and women from MK Dons and the city of Milton Keynes.

“The Dons are doing a wonderful job supporting our Armed Forces with their annual events, and alongside this they do so much for the wider community in MK.”
