If we told you that in Milton Keynes this week coming, a festival of comedy will bring 40 comedians to raise smiles, you might well say 'Pull the udder one.'
But it's no bull, it's true - The Comedy Cow is hosting its own festival of the funnies at Westbury Arts Centre, starting on Friday (July 17) and rolling through to the end of the weekend.
They are well versed in this stuff, of course, bringing great comedy to their home soil with regularity.
Earlier this year their efforts were rewarded when they bagged the gong for Best Small Comedy Club in the Midlands at the Chortle Awards.
This festival will give you 'a flavour of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival whilst saving yourself the journey to Scotland,' promise those at the helm.
Four rooms will be on the go, so there will be no gag-free time, so to speak.
The continuous schedule is unrestrictive too - your entry wristband means you can pop in and out of the festival as frequently as you wish.
On Friday evening Richard Herring (top) is your main dish.
The all-round funny fella and 'podcast innovator' is as prolific as he is amusing, so ticket-holders are in for a fantastic start to their weekend.
Richard's blog, Warming Up has been stoked daily by its creator for nigh on a decade.
Mr Herring, please come and work for us here at Total MK!
Doors open at 7pm, last entry 8pm, and the show starts at 8.15pm.
Your supporting cast includes Jariath Regan, Mark Smith and Tommy Rowson.
Tickets are £12.
Headlining on Saturday (July 18), The Boy with Tape on His Face (below).
Some of you will have caught this royal performer in town before - he's a Stables and IF:Fest stalwart.
But he's not the only proposition worth erm, sticking with on Saturday.
Take a deep breath. Here are the others getting witty for you: Alfie Moore, Twisted Loaf, Jim Smallman, Jess Robinson (below), Bob Mills, Omar Hamdi, Sooz Kempner, Tom Deacon, Bob Slayer (anyone named after one of our all-time fave musical propositions is never going to fail with us) and Goodbear.
Good beer will also figure during the weekend, with the Concrete Cow Brewery pouring the wet stuff.
You 'herd' it hear first!
It would be rude not to support local business, so please, enjoy.
Just don't overdo it, because there is another day of indulgence to be had on the Sunday.
Rise and shine, and back to the Westbury Arts Centre with you.
Mock the Week regular Gary Delaney (above), Radio 2 favourite Ian D Montfort and headliners Rayguns Look Real Enough (below) will be joined by Martin Mor, Holly Burn, Rhys James, Stephen Bailey and That Pair.
What, you want more?
Here you go: Chris Martin (above, nah, not the one with the dreary, inoffensively offensive music), Phil Nicol, Keith Farnan, Fern Brady and Aaron Twitchen will turn those frowns upside dowen by the event end.
Talk about a lot of goodness for not a lot of cash - tickets start at £12 for Friday's launch, then cost £22.50 for a one day ticket, or take a weekend all-inclusive ticket for £40, covering all three days.
