From ancient churches to hi-tech homes, Milton Keynes has its own unique and rich heritage, and this coming weekend is the ideal opportunity to delve into it.
From today (Thursday, September 8) to Sunday (September 11), a whole range of interesting places in and around the city will be scrapping their usual admission charges and/or hosting free events which offer new insights into this area's history, culture or architecture.
Whatever your interests and tastes, you'd be hard pressed not to find something to enjoy in the 65-plus free events and activities on offer.

This year there's a special treat for buildings buffs with a clutch of free expert 'Love Architecture' tours supported by RIBA, the Royal Institute of British Architects.
Heritage Open Days is run mainly by local volunteers, and is part of a nationwide annual heritage-fest which attracts millions of visitors every year.
The central idea is simple enough – to open our eyes to the history all around us, by throwing wide the doors of as many historical, cultural and architectural sites as possible.
