Marvellous Mótus bathes Milton Keynes in dance delight

This  weekend, the annual Mótus Dance Festival delivered works based on the themes of Push/Identify.

And plenty of people seemed to identify with the works on display, as the event proved to be another superb success.

Mótus is a celebration of all things dance, but far from being elitist, it acts as a pull, drawing new eyes to the art form every time it is held, and this time it featured works that pushed boundaries physically and culturally.

Shows were held at venues including The Chrysalis Theatre, MK Gallery Project Space, Stantonbury Campus and in the heart of the Theatre District.

Speaking shortly after the curtain fell on this weekend's event, assistant director Effie McGuire Ward told Total MK: "It’s been a joy to see the high calibre and diversity of performances from all of the groups, schools and professionals who’ve presented work at MÓTUS this year.

"Audiences were wowed by the acrobatics of Paramount Parkour - they flew around scaffolding and structures in Margaret Powell Square - which kicked off the Saturday afternoon with energetic and engaging performances from everyone involved.

"Comments from audience members reflected that they were very impressed with what they saw and had difficulty choosing a favourite piece because it was all so well done,"  Effie added.

"It was also a treat to have been able to present work at the Chrysalis Theatre this year from Flexer & Sandiland, Keira Martin and several emerging artists."
