Tingewick based artist Cathy Read has been elected a member of the prestigious Society of Women Artists.
She will be exhibiting with them at the Mall Galleries in London from tomorrow, and through to 13th June, 2015.
Cathy will also be giving a live demonstration of her creative process at the gallery on Tuesday (June 9) between 11am and 3pm.
Founded as the Society of Female Artists, this unique group has held an annual exhibition in London of the work of women artists since 1857.
It has introduced many famous names to the world of fine art appreciation, and in turn, their works to well-known art galleries and public places.
Cathy’s distinctive paintings depict the geometric shapes and inherent patterns of architecture in a free, expressive style and the colour keeps drawing your eyes.
The inspiration for the paintings comes from time spent in London and other major cities, such as Manchester and Oxford.
