The sound of the mower and the smell of freshly cut grass epitomises hazy summer days, and even though we don't all enjoy dragging the cutter around, we all love the results of a tidy and trim garden.
This weekend (May 18 & 19), The Old Lawnmower Club will come to Milton Keynes Museum for its annual rally.
The cutting-edge club boasts more than 500 members as interest in the machines through the years continues to grow.
Anyone who has an interest in the development of these invaluable garden assistants will want to visit during the course of the weekend, with 100s of mowers expected to be lined up for inspection.
Aside from the rare mowers on show from club members, the Museum’s own fine collection will be open; Milton Keynes Museum is home to some of the earliest examples in existence.
The event is 'edging' nearer, and everyone is invited to visit on Saturday and Sunday to check out the machinery of days past, see some in action and say 'Good mow-ning' to club members!
